History of Elevator

WHAT IS ELEVATOR ?

An elevator is a platform, that lowered in a vertical shaft to transport people and freight. Elevator contain the operating equipment, motor, cables and accessories. It is a type of verticals transportation that moves people or goods between floor, level of a building or other structures. Elevator is a person or thing that elevates or raises. The technology developed by these industries and the introduction of steel beam work together to provide the passenger and freight elevator use today.

Some people argue that elevator began as simple rope. An elevator is essential a platform that is either pulled or pushed up by a Mechanical Machine.

 

WHO INVENTED THE ELEVATOR ?

According to the writing of vitruvius, the Greek mathematician Archimedes created a primitive elevator in 236 B.C. that was operated by hoisting ropes wound around a drum and operated by manpower applied to a capstan.

 

WHERE WAS THE ELEVATOR INVENTED ?

The “vertical screw railway” was installed in a few building in New York and Philadelphia.

Hydraulic elevators are elevator which are powered by a piston that travel inside a cylinder. Hydraulic elevator are used extensively in building up to five or six stories, but rarely up to 8 stories high.

 

TRACTION ELEVATOR

Traction Elevator are the most common type of elevator. Traction Elevator also know as Machine Room Less (MRL).

 

CLIMBING ELEVATOR

Climbing elevator hold their own power device on them, mostly electric or combustion engine. Climbing Elevator are used in work and construction area.

 

PNEUMATIC ELEVATOR

Pneumatic elevator was found in 2002, or slightly earlier than 2002 before the company was founded. It is the newest thing in elevating.
