What is elevator?
Elevator is a machine used for carrying people and things to different floors in a building. An elevator is a simple device. Elevators are designed for specific building, number of people travelling each floor.
Elevators are made of several machine. Elevator is made of carbon fibre-reinforced polymers (CFRP), glass fibre-reinforced polymers and bio-derived polymers. Wheel, axle and metal box is a simple a machine which is used in elevator.
Elevators are made up of:
Glass elevator
Major fact of glass elevator is, it is not made of glass. Glass elevator is look like a cylinder tube of crystal and fragile to touch. Panels are made of acrylic. Acrylic is made from polymers of acrylic acid or acrylates.
Hoist cylinder
The hoist cylinder is the important and major part of elevator. Hoist cylinder is made from a clear poly carbonate, usually it is over 250 more times durable than glass.
Passenger car
Passenger is made of steel exterior frame and ceiling surrounded by acrylic panels. These panels provide protection from the exterior hoist-way shaft while the car is in motion.
Suction assembly
The suction assembly contain many things such as vacuum turbines it can be found in various places on the pneumatic elevator.
Drive machine
Elevators use a helical gearbox which is high-efficiency industrial motor. Motor provides various benefits for e.g. motor translates its efficiency directly into operational energy savings other example is the insulation and efficiency properties allow for a very quiet drive system.
It is good thing for the consumer that glass elevators are not made of glass.
Most elevators use counterweights which equals the weight of the elevator plus 40% of its maximum rated load. The first elevators were operated by the cable drums.
