Well, this is an interesting question. Why is there a mirror in elevator?
Many people have problem of claustrophobic. A fear of being in closed or small spaces is called claustrophobic. Having a mirror in a lift reduces the problem of claustrophobic. Mirror adds a sense of more space to an elevator, making it feel less cramped and small and helping to avoid feelings of being trapped. Having a mirror in elevator people became distracted and were no longer preoccupied with the fear of falling.
For Distraction
Mirror is a good way to provide distraction. Usually people get bored when they are in elevator. They don’t have any work to do in elevator. Mirrors were installed in order to distract people and give them something to look at while they waited.
Mirror in Elevator is for safety
The purpose of having mirrors within the lift is to allow you to see what everyone is doing. If they are planning to assault or rob you, you will at least have forewarning and a short time to prepare yourself accordingly.
For Wheelchair bound people
The practice of placing mirrors within lifts first came from Japan, and according to Japan Elevator Association, it is a regulation for all lifts to be outfitted with a mirror within. The reason for doing so is to help wheelchair bound people move in and out of the lift more easily.
Because a lift might not be big enough for wheelchairs to turn around, the wheelchair bound might have to reverse their wheelchair out of the lift. With mirrors within the lift to show them where they’re going, they’ll have an easier time getting out of it.
All of these theories are relevant and if you are looking to install a lift with mirrors we have lots of options available.
